The McLaren M4A was designed by Robin Herd and built by McLaren F1 team to compete in European F2 Championship.The M4A made its debut in 1967 and was powered by Ford Cosworth FVA engine. Although the car was reasonably competitive it was able to beat the Brabham BT23 or Lotus 48 but McLaren won 2 races in in 1967. Bruce McLaren's full focus went to F1 in 1968. The team has won 8 Constructor Championships.
